Nathan Cano is a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LAADC), Case Manager and Program Director at Journey Hillside Tarzana. He has his B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Addiction Counseling – graduating both programs with honors distinction. He has worked in the field of addiction treatment for over 8 years (as of 2023), with experience in group facilitation, individual counseling, case management, staff management, program management, operations, and program compliance. Additionally, Nathan is Addiction Treatment in Military & Veteran Culture Certified and a Certified Anger Management Specialist II with the National Anger Management Association.
Nathan shared: “I understand that taking time off from work, navigating the court system and ensuring that all outside responsibilities are taken care of when coming to treatment can be difficult and overwhelming. Fortunately, professionals like myself are trained with the skills needed to flawlessly handle these situations on behalf of the client so that they can focus on treatment and live the life they have always wanted.”
Nathan’s case management approach focuses on problem solving and matching client needs with available resources. “There is always a solution to any problem, and it always starts with getting sober. When you work towards sobriety, a better life is the natural result- but we have to be willing to trust the process and take that first step.”
